What Went Wrong With Windows 8 As Compared To MS Office 2013

Microsoft has finally released the final version of the latest Office 2013 suite and now users can easily download MS Office Free Trial to test out the new features of Microsoft Office 2013. While there has been no major outcry by users regarding the Metro based Office 2013, there have been a number of complaints by users regarding just how bad Windows 8 is.

Where Windows 8 Went Wrong?

I have been using Windows 8 since the developer’s preview and I must say that it fell really short of expectations. After the success of Windows 7, the last thing anyone expected was another Vista. In fact, Windows 8 is perhaps a bigger failure than Vista, despite arguably better sales figures. The reason for this failure seems to be the changes made by Microsoft that have now isolated desktop PC users. This includes the removal of the conventional Start button, the more touch oriented Metro UI, elimination of the Aero effect, as well as other radical and unpleasant user interface changes with a horrible color combination.

What Makes MS Office 2013 A Better Product Than Windows 8?

While the Metro UI (Modern UI) will probably be condemned again by users for ruining the look and feel of the latest office suite, Office 2013 is still far ahead of the game. This is because Microsoft Office 2013 has come with a number of enhanced features that can be useful for end users. This includes Widescreen support for PowerPoint, Flash Fill feature for Excel, Weather updates help schedule meetings via Outlook, as well as a plethora of other new features for various Office suites.

What Might The Future Hold

Even before the final build of Windows 8 was released, there was talk about the release of an initial build of Windows 9 in just a matter of 1 and a half years. As Windows 8 goes down the drain, we are likely to see an earlier release for Windows 9, as well as new updates for MS Office 2013 to iron out some bugs.
